A Christmas present bookcase I built for my granddaughter Keelie a few years ago out of red oak.  No stain, just a blonde sealing coat and three coats of urethane varnish.

Playroom storage built from three-quarter inch MDF and painted white.  The unit is designed to screw together and able to be dismantled when moving.
